Q&A

1. Where is Living Water?

Living Water is located in the beautiful Pinnacle Peak north Scottsdale area, at 9201 E. Happy Valley Road, just east of Pima Road. (See Map)

2. What time is worship?

For most of the year, we offer two worship services – a liturgical service at 8:30am and a praise service at 11:00am. Both services last 55-60 minutes. During the summer, from the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend to the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, we combine for one casual and blended worship service at 9:30am.

3. How are the worship services alike and different?

Both our liturgical and praise worship services contain the classic features of Lutheran worship. First and foremost, all worship at Living Water focuses on God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The foundations of Lutheran worship in any style is Word (Biblical preaching, Scripture readings, music and liturgy based on the Bible) and Sacrament (Holy Communion at every worship service and Baptism throughout the year). We aim to worship God and to lift high the cross of Jesus Christ in all our worship services.

What’s most notably different about our liturgical service and our praise service is the music. Liturgical worship mostly features hymns (although we occasionally sing praise music in the liturgical service) led by piano. Our excellent choir leads worship and provides stirring musical offerings in this service. We don’t always use liturgy in our worship services, but when we do you’ll find it at our liturgical service. In our praise service, most of the music is praise style (although we frequently sing a hymn or explore global or other music styles in our praise service) led by our dynamic praise band. The overall feel of the praise service is more casual, and lots of families worship in this service – although some prefer the liturgical service.

At Living Water we believe how we worship is less important than Who we worship. We think of worship styles as speaking the language of worship with different accents. By offering two worship styles at two different times we hope to invite as many people as possible to speak their praise to the Lord.

4. What should I wear?

You’re welcome to wear what makes you comfortable and prepared to worship the Lord. All year round you’ll find some folks in their “Sunday best” and others in shorts and sandals – especially in the summer. We’re not here to judge your fashion sense. We just want you to feel comfortable and welcome.

5. How do I become a member?

Fill out our visitor information form or call the church office (480-473-8400 or office@lwlcaz.org) to find out the date of the next new member class.
